Mesa 850 Cod backbone processing machine
This processing machine for cod backbones remove swim bladders and fish flesh from backbone after filleting or splitting. The size of the backbones that the machine can process is from approximately 200g, depending on raw material, and up to Urgent sizes with the machine adjusting itself to different sizes of backbones.
When the swim bladder has been cut from the backbone it is necessary to wash it right away so that blood does not taint the swim bladders. Suitable washing method is in a tumbler fitted with brushes. The tumbler is placed as much as possible in a horizontal position to avoid the swim bladders getting entangled. Efficiency in the processing, both capacity and yields, depends on the quality of the raw material and bow well the machine is adjusted. The quality of the backbones varies depending on bow the header and splitter are adjusted. Heading has to be such that bones from the bead do not go with the backbone as this extra hump can interfer with removal of flesh. The backbone will get stranded on the flesh scrapers and the conveyor will slip on the backbone. Then it is necessary to stop the machine, uncouple the air, open the hood and push the backbone out of the way.
If the backbone cut in the splitter is such that it cuts into the rear moat part of the backbone it may be difficult or impossible to рrосеss as the conveyor does not have the same grip on the whole of the backbone and turn.
